Mahiti Infotech Pvt Ltd presented a special lecture on Impact of Technology in the Social Sector and demonstrated the Convene platform at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore for the Masters Social Work students on 08 July 2016.
The presentation began with the students and staff welcoming the guest speaker, Mr Sreekanth S Rameshaiah (Executive Director, Mahiti Infotech Pvt Ltd) — Sree, as he is fondly called. Sree spoke about the importance and impact of technology in the social sector — how Information and Communication Technology was changing Education, Agriculture and Healthcare. When the students were asked what they were expecting as an outcome of the presentation, one of them responded that they had come to validate whether they had made the right choice by choosing the MSW course.

Students then got hands-on time on the Convene platform with their senior Asish Jacob, who is currently employed at Mahiti. Asish demonstrated how a survey can be created, how data is captured, and how reports are generated.
The students were eager to use the application for their own project work — it would, they said, increase their efficiency in data capture.
